Risks
Cataract surgery is considered a low-risk one. It is estimated that most of the population over 60 in the developed world will have had cataract surgery.
However, like with all medical procedures, cataract surgery too has some negative effects associated with it. These can include inflammation of the eyes, glaucoma, discomfort, retinal detachment or even detachment of the newly implanted lens. In extremely rare cases, it can lead to a permanent loss of vision.
